WHERE HAVE THE DREAMS GONE?
By Sergio Granillo I emigrated to make my dream come true, to study my career in the Tec de Monterrey Campus Querétaro’ (the most prestigious private university in Mexico); I left friends and part of my family in Mexico City –where I was born and lived for 18 years. So, I went to live to a small town 2 hours to the north of Mexico City, Querétaro, 1985 –the year of the big earthquake that killed thousands. The world was bipolar, Capitalists versus Communist. People didn’t have computers at home, Internet didn’t exist yet, no cell phones, no globalization, no exchange of students with foreign universities… In Mexico, there was only one political party, never changed, unthinkable to have any option; entertainment was dominated by only one company as well, Televisa, and because of that, everybody who studied Communications –not the engineering, had in focus to get in to that company to succeed and be famous.
